Clay has traditions rooted in almost every civilization around the world. From utilitarian works to religious idols, each holds a certain cultural significance, and a wealth of possibilities for modern artists to explore.
I am interested in the way clay moves -- how it slumps, cracks, melts, warps and grows. These works track my attempts to control and celebrate those processes in the context of formal ceramic traditions.
